DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Every piece furniture we create is art. It’s made from raw material we find in the old growth jungles of Indonesia. We unearth it and shape it. The second life of this piece of modern organic furniture lives in your space, giving you warmth and beauty for generations.

- Kayu Indonesia

"Every new piece I find is a blank canvas to me. I see it and look at it for hours sometimes thinking about how I can make something people will like and is an everyday functional piece and still a beautiful art piece. I start drawing lines with the white chalk and stand back, look at it and ask my team if they see something different. Sometimes we will mark it up and wait a few months until we are truly excited about an idea for the raw woods"

Kayu Indonesia's design process is deeply thought-out, extremely detailed, and true to keeping it the centre of timeless functionality.
